We are so excited to have objects returning to this beautiful building. This week we returned a bust of Hiawatha to our foyer. When we looked really closely to a picture of Dr. Mead in the foyer, we can see this bust in the background. This is just one of many pieces returning. Join us Riverboat Days weekend as we unveil the Yankton State Hospital Artwork exhibit. Thanks to a partnership with the University of South Dakota, beautiful paintings by Louis Janousek and other well-known artists will once again grace the walls of the Mead Building. Also that weekend stop out for our Vendor Fair and take advantage of our free-will donation admission weekend. If you are interested in participating in the vendor fair, contact Heidi at programs@meadbuilding.org to sign up. Riverboat Days Weekend is a great time to visit the Mead Cultural Education Center. Our summer hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm (closed Wednesdays) and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
